apartment!
we’ve been approved for an apartment. the first (and only) one we applied to! AND it’s super cute… nolan hasn’t actually seen it in person yet, ‘cause he was working the day i looked at it, but i took a video and showed it to him. he’ll see it tomorrow when we go over and sign the paper work. dad is selling his condo, and we were told we needed to be out asap for them to get it ready to put on the market. this is fine by me, as we were hoping to get out around this time anyway… but to be honest it makes me feel really sad for my dad. he loves his fancy condo.
anyway, this apartment! i’d show it to you, too, if i could. soon, though! now that we’ll be moving into this new place, we have to get all of our crap out of storage. i think i have an extra camera cord in there.
everything is just going so great lately… i feel like at any moment, everything is going to crash and burn. it sure stresses me out!
one of the few scenarios in which reading a review is not helpful
After an hour spent reading over reviews of local tattoo artists, I’ve come to the conclusion that there are never going to BE any honest (negative) reviews, as people are too stubborn to admit that their OWN tattoos (you know, the ones that are going to be plastered to their flesh for the rest. of. their. lives,) …look like POO!
(Thus making it very difficult to find what I’m looking for.)
Found this gem on my old cosplay.com account. yes, it is ridiculous…and yes, it is poorly constructed… but at sixteen, this was my pride & joy.
perhaps cosplay something i should consider getting into again. it was a lot easier to make friends at anime conventions.. still, are they the right kind of friends? as i get older, i find myself getting more and more annoyed with that whole personality type. on the other hand, wearing kitty ears 24/7 is in general, i think, good idea.
still, chances are i’d probably find myself spitting/wishing stretchmarks on all the sexy underaged passerby in costume… “I USED TO BE YOUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!”
young people (particularly those that remind me of myself at their age,) do tend to bring out the worst in me.
even if i don’t get back into cosplay, i know that when we have the space, i definitely want to get back into sewing. i was never the best in high school, because i was never patient enough to read any books and always just sort of just “winged it,” but i do really want to put the time in and make it a solid skill. goodness knows, this IS portland, and i haven’t picked up that guitar in months..
I’m 100% pro-choice, but abortion in general still makes me sad.
People have GOT TO know that all potential fathers (be they 14 or 41) are going to experience a feeling of loss, regardless of whether or not it may be best for them in the long run. There’s no way around it. Everyone needs to cut this kid a break.
It’s human nature to try to make sense of (and simplify) complex situations in times of stress, even if it means pointing the finger at an ex-girlfriend. He’s just reaching out for support, and I hope he gets it… not because he’s right or wrong, but because everyone deserves to be heard, and actually LISTENED to.

No, not new episodes. But Firefly will be airing on the Science Channel, in higher definition, in their intended order. This will mark the first time Firefly has aired on a distributed cable channel since 2008, when it ran on USA Network.
Apparently some nerd physicist is going to talk about sci-fi after each episode.
